Philokalia Ministries — Returning This Fall
A return to prayer, the Fathers, and the life of the heart

After a brief time of quiet, Philokalia Ministries will resume our gatherings in October.
Sometimes it is necessary to step away for a little while—not simply to rest, but to remember why we began. Our purpose remains very simple: to sit together at the feet of the Fathers, to listen attentively to the wisdom born of prayer and struggle, and to allow their words to lead us more deeply into the mystery of Christ.
We will begin again with the following gatherings:
Fall Retreat — Four Saturday Evenings
October 17, 24, 31 & November 7
7:00–9:00 PM Eastern
Four evenings set apart for prayer, reflection, and the wisdom of the ascetical tradition—a space to become quiet enough to hear again what is essential.
The Evergetinos
Monday, October 19
7:30 PM Eastern
We return to the extraordinary treasury of the Evergetinos, allowing the lives and sayings of the Fathers to confront, console, and teach us the way of repentance.
St. Isaac the Syrian
Wednesday, October 21
7:30 PM Eastern
We will also return to the homilies of St. Isaac, whose words continually draw us toward mercy, humility, compunction, and the unfathomable love of God.
I am grateful for the patience and kindness shown during this recent period of quiet. Perhaps such pauses remind us that these gatherings were never meant simply to fill a calendar. They exist to help us seek the one thing needful.
And so we begin again—not hurriedly, but quietly.
Not because the silence has ended, but because perhaps we can return carrying some of it with us.
“Go, sit in your cell, and your cell will teach you everything.”
