There are certain books that one writes over many years without ever intending to write them.

They emerge slowly through prayer, countless hours with the Scriptures, the Desert Fathers, and the wisdom of the saints. More than anything, they arise from the hidden work of God in the heart.

I am grateful that The Monastic Heart and the Future of the Church has now begun its journey into the hands of readers throughout the world. My prayer is simply that it may help others discover, even in a small way, the beauty of the Kingdom of God hidden within.

Even as that journey begins, I have been quietly preparing the next volume from City a Desert Press.

This book grew out of our recent retreat series together, but it reaches far beyond those conferences. It is a meditation upon the holy Name of Jesus, the prayer of the heart, and the inexhaustible mystery of the One before whom every knee bows in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

The Jesus Prayer is far more than a method of prayer. It is the continual remembrance of Christ, the slow purification of the heart, and the gentle unveiling of the Kingdom within us. It teaches us not merely to say His Name, but to live in His presence.

The manuscript is now in its final stages of preparation, and I hope to have it available very soon.

Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and your remarkable generosity throughout this entire journey. Every book that follows is, in many ways, the fruit of a community seeking Christ together.

May the holy Name of Jesus become ever more deeply engraved upon our hearts.
